Mandate of the Centre for Studies in Aging & Health at Providence Care

The Centre for Studies in Aging & Health (CSAH) at Providence Care in collaboration with others seeks to increase knowledge, generate awareness and improve health and community system capacity and transform the organization of health services to promote successful aging, prevent or delay the expression of frailty and its harmful consequences, and improve care for the elderly within South East Ontario.

We seek to improve health outcomes for the elderly through collaborative integrated scholarly and/or practical skill-building processes with:

  • clinicians and researchers
  • educators and trainers
  • planners and decision-makers
  • champions of quality care

The CSAH accomplishes this through:

  • Leading the Aging with Co-morbidities Network
  • Hosting and participating in innovative eldercare research projects across a multitude of health care settings
  • Working collaboratively with care providers and health care teams to plan, implement and sustain quality improvement
  • Disseminating information describing our initiatives through presentations, formal reports and publications
