Community Support Services - Social & Recreational Services in South East Ontario

Description of Service

Many community-based Provider Organizations (Providers) offer Social & Recreational Services which consist of a wide variety of learning and recreational activities for seniors that encourage community involvement and intergenerational contact.

These Providers serve a range of people including those who are very healthy to those needing many services to stay living independently in the community. Seniors are directly involved in operating the Social & Recreational Services, advising on program planning, and serving as volunteers.

Eligibility

The process for arranging care is different for each of the Community Support Services. Contact the local Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) to find out the process for each of the service options and whether someone is eligible for the government-funded services.

If the CCAC deems someone ineligible to receive government-funded services, or if someone wishes to make their own arrangements, they may apply to the Provider Organization directly.
