Community Support Services - Caregiver Counselling in South East Ontario
Description of Service
Many community-based Provider Organizations (Providers) provide Caregiver Counselling services for caregivers and family members on an individual basis.
A health care professional, such as a psychologist, social worker or a nurse, can listen to a caregiver's concerns and provide emotional support and advice. There may be a consumer fee for this service. Subsidies may be available.
Eligibility
The process for arranging care is different for each of the Community Support Services. Contact the local Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) to find out the process for each of the service options and whether someone is eligible for the government-funded services.
If the CCAC deems someone ineligible to receive government-funded services, or if someone wishes to make their own arrangements, they may apply to the Provider Organization directly.
