Friendly Visiting
Description of Service
Many community-based Provider Organizations (Providers) provide Friendly Visiting services to people who may be living alone or are isolated. A volunteer may regularly visit a person at home and help them with activities and/or provide social support.
Eligibility
The process for arranging care is different for each of the Community Support Services. Contact the local Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) to find out the process for each of the service options and whether someone is eligible for the government-funded services.
If the CCAC deems someone ineligible to receive government-funded services, or if someone wishes to make their own arrangements, they may apply to the Provider Organization directly.
