Bereavement Support
Description of Service
Many community-based Provider Organizations (Providers) offer Bereavement Support services to families and caregivers of persons who are in palliative care or who have recently died.
Bereavement Support services may include individual and/or group grief counselling, educational & informational resources targeted to help people cope with loss and volunteer social support.
Eligibility
The process for arranging care is different for each of the Community Support Services. Contact the local Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) to find out the process for each of the service options and whether someone is eligible for the government-funded services.
If the CCAC deems someone ineligible to receive government-funded services, or if someone wishes to make their own arrangements, they may apply to the Provider Organization directly.
