The Centre for Studies in Aging & Health

The Providence Care Board of Directors, under the co-leadership of Dr. John Puxty and Dr. Ken Le Clair established the Centre for Studies in Aging & Health (CSAH) at Providence Care in August 2007.

Its mandate is to work in collaboration with others to build knowledge, awareness and system capacity to promote successful aging, prevent or delay the expression of frailty and its harmful consequences and to improve care and transform the organizations of health services.

Strengths of the CSAH include:

  • Established inter-professional team with broad content expertise in aging, collaborative healthcare practice, adult education and training, multimedia and use of information technology
  • Unique web-based knowledge and information platform (www.sagelink.ca), which supports both the transfer of information and knowledge processes and collaborative interaction of the knowledge creators and users. The third generation of the platform will be launched in later part of 2009 featuring new functionality including a customized Learning Management System
  • Proven ability to create, adapt and translate knowledge to practice resources relating to aging and health suitable for a variety of learners and clinical settings
  • Availability of educational resources and decision-supports relevant to multiple sectors and topics that can be readily accessed and shared using a variety of web-based tools.

Recently funded projects and contracts include:
